Pro-De-Sheding

Our Pro-De-Shed service is designed for double-coated and heavy-shedding dogs to help manage excess undercoat in a healthy and controlled way. De-shedding is a vital grooming service that utilizes specific tools and products tailored to your dog's coat type. For "double-coated" breeds, shaving their fur disrupts their natural temperature regulation and skin protection functions. Unless there are severe mats or medical needs, we strongly advise against doing so. Shaving double-coated breeds can cause permanent damage, leading to hair loss, potential skin cancers, and alopecia, while increasing the risk of heatstroke.

This treatment focuses on removing loose, dead undercoat while preserving the natural top coat and skin balance. When performed correctly, de-shedding can help reduce shedding at home, improve airflow to the skin, and support overall coat comfort — without damaging the coat structure.

In fact, by removing the layer of dead hair in the undercoat, this service promotes healthier skin and reduces the amount of hair around your home. Since dogs are unable to groom themselves, regular de-shedding is crucial to their overall health and well-being.

Pro-De-shed treatments are recommended based on coat type and condition and are not suitable for all dogs. Our groomers will assess whether this service is appropriate for your dog.
